Kellie + Michael. Forest Oaks Wedding.

Welcome to the new Alexa’s Photography blog! I am so excited to finally have larger images, easier browsing and searching, and a new color scheme and logo! I have worked so hard the past few weeks trying to perfect all the details on this blog and my new website. I know I still may need to change things but let me know what you think so far! Jamie Harris at did an incredible job with my logo, don’t you think? I wanted something that really reflects my work and personality and she definitely nailed it! I just love the pop of orange :) Make sure you click over to the website and check out the galleries and other information!

Now, on to Kellie and Michael. The few days before the wedding were warm and beautiful but the weather had a change of heart and it was chilly and overcast that Saturday. Thank goodness Michael and Kellie are so easygoing! It didn’t bother them at all and the wedding was great. See for yourself!

The details …

Venue : Pleasant Union United Methodist & Forest Oaks Country Club

Bride’s Dress : Casablanca Bridal

Bride’s Shoes : BCBGeneration

Catering : Forest Oaks Country Club

Michael had some help from his dad while getting ready.

Everyone was itching to play with the ringbearer’s gift.

Michael gave some great gifts to his groomsmen. They didn’t want to put these compasses down!

After shooting with the guys, I checked in on the girls …

I love this moment between the moms. Everyone was excited and happy about this wedding!

Some final touches…

Kellie’s dad was so sweet. He teared up just a little when he saw his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time.

Ceremony time!

The church’s sanctuary was gorgeous!

We took a few minutes to shoot our newlyweds in the church before heading to the reception.

I love this black and white. So classic!

Some reception detail…

Kellie’s grandma was one of the first on the dance floor and she set the bar high!

Michael pulled out some pretty smooth moves during the reception, too!

Michael totally rocked the garter removal. It was so funny!

Congratulations Kellie and Michael!

Kellie. A Bridal Session

We shot Kellie’s bridal session at the Homeland Cremery Farm in Julian, NC. I was excited about shooting at a dairy farm but even more excited when Kellie told me she was up for anything! We shot in the barn, inside the cow fence, and in the ice cream shop. Let me tell you, a dairy farm is not the cleanest place on earth to shoot your bridal session but the dress didn’t get dirty at all and the property was gorgeous!

I love the moody sky in these first few shots.

LOVE the barn and tree combination. It was such a great contrast to Kellie’s flawless look.

One of my favorites. This should be a large canvas!

Kellie was so excited about her purple shoes… and for good reason! They are so cute.

We went inside the fence for a few shots with the cows.

Just look at how cooperative they are!

The sun popped out for the last few minutes of our session. Beautiful!

Seriously, Kellie. Too gorgeous!

She’s just so effortlessly stunning.

A few last shots in the ice cream shop. So fun!
