Ok, you all are going to have to hold me to it this time! I posted some monthly goals in September of last year and planned on doing it every month but we all see how that turned out… I will tell you, though, that I did cross some of those items off my list and made headway on the others, so it wasn’t all for nothing!
This time I really want to stick to blogging goals every month. There’s something about having my goals and plans listed out that really makes me want to get them done! So here goes…
Goals for me…
Start meal planning. I am not very organized when it comes to meal planning for the week. In fact, my system is to think “what should we do for dinner?” around 3:00pm, forget about it for a while, and then scrounge through my cabinets and start cooking around 5:30. Which is fine some of the time but how much more relaxing would it be to have a plan in place?! Do any of you meal plan for the week? Give me some tips! I need to get myself together over here…
Speaking of which, my next goal is to get organized in general. With this next baby on the way, we’ve realized even more how important it will be for us to be organized in all areas of life. This includes a chore calendar for me and Jonathan so household upkeep doesn’t slip through the cracks, storing and moving seasonal stuff out to our shed, and organizing the playroom and new baby’s room so that everything has a place! We listed out our entire “to do before baby” list a couple of months ago and are slowly making our way through it. I hope to at least organize the playroom before May is over.
Memorize two scriptures this month. I’ve been realizing more and more how powerful and effective the word of God is in my life. I want to commit more scripture to memory so I can recall it when needed (translation : pretty much every day). I know that two verses over four weeks is not a very lofty goal but you’ve gotta start somewhere! These are the verses I’ve chosen :
“Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins
and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies.” Psalm 103:1-4
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
Take the family strawberry picking! I have this bad track record of missing strawberry season because I always think it happens later in the year! This year I’m determined not to miss it! I need fresh strawberry shortcake (made with biscuits, not cake) in my life.
Goals for my business…
Blog more frequently! I really want to blog at least once a week and that means I need to think ahead and schedule blog posts so I don’t fall behind! Emily Ley has a handy printable blog calendar on her website that I’m utilizing to make this goal happen!
Print new price guides. I redesigned my price guide for 2014 to simplify my coverage options – and also to look better. I need to get them printed so I can hand them out when needed!
Finish filling out my PowerSheets . My sweet sweet hubby bought these for me for Christmas and I haven’t finished filling them out yet (five months later, eek!). PowerSheets are designed to help you decide your life vision and set overall goals so that you can align yourself with a purpose and actually get things done throughout the week. I completed all the prep work but haven’t actually set my yearly goals yet.
