2017 Spring Mini Sessions. Greensboro family photographer.

Another season of mini sessions has come and gone. . . I’m so grateful for all of these lovely families and their trust in me as a photographer. Catching little moments of joy and intimacy is my favorite thing and you all gave me the honor of seeing those things in you in just twenty minutes! Thank you for the laughs and for being yourselves with me. I so appreciate you!

This might have been one of my favorite mini session events ever. SO MANY BABIES. And a bulldog! What more could you want from an event like this? Saturday’s sessions were photographed at a private property and Sunday’s sessions were held at Summerfield Farms. What a perfect weekend!

Like what you see? Don’t miss out on fall mini sessions later this year!

Brittany + Sean. Walnut Lane Wedding.

| Posted in: weddings

In conversations with friends about my business, a lot of them are surprised to find that many of my clients I meet for the first time on the wedding day. But, really, it happens quite often! I love doing consultations and meeting couples in person and it’s even better when I get to photograph an engagement session and interact with them in person. But there’s something to be said about meeting a couple for the first time on one of the biggest days of their lives! Since we’ve never been around each other, I feel like I’m more observant of the way they naturally interact with each other. The glances and smiles and touches all tell so much!

Brittany + Sean are one of those couples. We had a FaceTime consult before booking so I did get a preview of how cute they are together, but the wedding day was a fun first meet! Walnut Lane is such a sweet little venue tucked in the woods. There are so many beautiful little nooks to photograph and the closeness of the venue makes everything feel so intimate! We had plenty of time for portraits after the first look and after the ceremony and my lovely second photographer, Mabyn, and I loved chasing the light with these sweet newlyweds. They look pretty good in that golden sunshine, right?

Baby Eli. Newborn Session in Reidsville.

| Posted in: babies, family

One of my very favorite things as a photographer is getting to document, year
after year, as families change, and grow, and move around. There’s nothing
better! I’ve photographed Louisa + Zach through their engagement, wedding, pregnancy, and a few sessions in between. What an honor it was to photograph them as a new family of three!

Eli was the sweetest little guy who didn’t want to nap and miss all the action of a photo shoot. He was so intrigued by the camera and by mom and dad. Finally mama got him to close his eyes for a few minutes with some snuggle time. It’s such a special privilege to watch couples step into parenthood and start
navigating this new season… Louisa + Zach, I know you are totally smitten with your son and will raise him in such a loving and stable home. It was such a joy to spend the morning with you!

Emily + Nick. Greensboro Engagement Session.

What is there to say about a session as perfect as this one?! We were scheduled to photograph Emily + Nick’s engagement session one weekend but the forecast was looking a little iffy and, as it turns out, I got the stomach bug that same weekend! Although it was horrible, at least that cut out the back-and-forth of trying to decide whether to reschedule the session or not! We ended up with the perfect weather. And I know the couple of weeks in between allowed for the blooms to come out even more!

We started at Greensboro’s Bicentennial Gardens and – thankfully – made it around the park right before a huge group of prom couples took over! Then we headed to Proximity Hotel for a little dressier look. It was all so good. Emily is a life + style blogger at Life with Emily, so their outfits were totally on point too!

Emily + Nick have been together for a long time and it shows up in the best of ways! They are so obviously comfortable with each other and know all the little details about each other (like Nick’s hair part, or Emily’s tendency to do the ‘blogger rock’, I think Nick called it) but still are so in love and so smitten with each other. I mean, just look at Nick’s face when he’s looking at his bride! Oh, I just can’t wait for this wedding day!
