Julia + Josh. The Oaks at Old Salem.

| Posted in: weddings

Every January I am in disbelief at how fast the year passed! 2015 was a good year… Filled with all the ups and downs of normal life but I was constantly reminded of my Savior’s love through the support of my friends and family, unexpected little blessings, and in the hugs and kisses of my two little boys and my incredible husband. I’m excited about 2016 and all it will bring! I’m hoping to do a little better about setting monthly goals and getting more into a routine both at home and with my work days (still up in the air whether any of these goals will make it to the blog or not!). So far we’ve had a really loose daily routine that includes lots of pajama time, playing, and snacking with regular play dates and running errands. But I know as the boys are getting older (Noah turned three on Sunday!) they’re starting to crave a little more structure and I would love to start doing some preschool with Noah throughout the week.

I recently read through Lara Casey’s book “Make It Happen” and will be leading a women’s group based on the book for the next couple of months so I’m hoping that will help me get my butt in gear!

Ok, on to the photos! Julia & Josh’s wedding was my last of the year and it turned out to be a gorgeous day for the end of November! I love Julia’s red hair and sweet smile and Josh is a perfect complement to her. Their day was filled with sparkle, cowboy boots, sunshine, and touches of fall color. It was perfect!

Antigone + Ryan. Childress Vineyards.

Have you ever been to a Greek engagement party? If not, you’re totally missing out. It was definitely a new experience for me but I loved every minute. There were so many meaningful traditions along with an actual ceremony where a priest blessed the rings and the families of Antigone + Ryan took part by showering them in jewelry and kisses. The toasts were so heartfelt and meaningful (although some were entirely in Greek so I’m not sure what was said!) and the dancing and money-throwing was just FUN!

I love the dessert table that combined gorgeous Maxie B’s cakes with authentic Greek treats handmade by family and friends. I totally snagged myself some baklava (my fave!). And the huge canvas behind the desserts is a painting of where Antigone + Ryan met! It was breathtaking. So, if any of you are getting married in Greece anytime soon, feel free to take me along! ;)

Hepzibah Everest. A birth story.

This goes on the record books for being one of my favorite moments ever. What an honor and a privilege it was to be with my little sister as she gave birth to her daughter (and my first niece!), Hepzibah Everest. Guys, birth is so intense! You can prepare and take classes and read all you want but experiencing it is a whole ‘nother thing. Alaina was full of beauty and strength during labor and I loved watching the way Dustin took care of her and supported her. They read scripture, prayed, and completely leaned on Jesus through the pain.

Hepzibah entered the world at 1:45 in the morning and came in at 8 pounds, 19 inches. She is perfectly squishy and adorable and has a head full of dark hair. The photos of their first moments as a family of three bring tears to my eyes every time…

Knust Family. Summerfield Family Portraits.

I’ve gotten to know this sweet family of four over the past few years as they have been a huge part of launching our New Garden campus at Daystar Church. They are always full of laughter¬† and I was thrilled to be able to photograph them this year. Knust family, you are so loved and appreciated. I hope these photos bring you so much joy!
