Mary Margaret + Jonathan. Childress Vineyards Wedding.

| Posted in: weddings

I love that no two weddings are exactly alike… and sometimes they’re even total opposites. A huge wedding with hundreds of guests, multiple locations, and 16 person bridal parties or an intimate wedding of 25 that feels more like a beautifully dressed up version of a holiday dinner with your closest family and friends. Both weddings are romantic. Both are meaningful. Both are beautiful reflections of the bride and groom that planned them…

Mary Margaret + Jonathan’s was a beautiful afternoon and evening spent at Childress Vineyards with a small number of family and friends. I loved feeling like a part of the family all day. Every detail was in place and the entire day was so relaxed. They said their vows in front of an incredible cross that Mary Margaret’s dad handcrafted and spent the evening laughing, talking, and dancing in a candlelit barrel cave in the winery. It was seriously like something straight out of a movie :)

I’ve mentioned before that I have my clients fill out a little questionnaire that helps me get to know them better before the wedding. I’ve decided I’m going to start sharing the little blurb of love story that I receive from each couple, so you can get to know them too!

From Mary Margaret : “While I was attending graduate school at East Carolina University, we were introduced by two mutual friends at an ECU football game. Jon says it was love at first sight! We quickly found we had a lot in common – our love of sports, our families, traveling, music, food and adventure. Within the first month after meeting we were inseparable. In our 3 years together we have traveled to many cities, of which some of our favorites are New York for a Coldplay concert, Baltimore for an Orioles baseball game, and Asheville for a beer festival/ghost tour/brewery tours. We gravitate to new locations, great restaurants and breweries wherever we go! Our favorite trip would have to be our engagement trip to Charleston last September. Jon created a second (faux) itinerary for our trip to keep me in the dark on his plans – I was completely caught off guard in a good way! Three years have passed and we now both have budding careers , a house we built together, and a furry dog-child named Luna.”

And now you’re married! Mary Margaret, Jonathan, and families, I hope you love reliving this perfect day. . . Enjoy!

Stephanie + Jonathan. The Matthews House Wedding.

It’s always fun to reconnect with someone from years past, and even more fun to photograph their wedding! Jonathan and I went to photography school together and even went on the same trip to New York with a few classmates (which slipped my mind until the week before the wedding. ha!). He and Stephanie were so easygoing and relaxed even in the face of a rainy wedding day. Thankfully the rain held off until the reception was well underway and we got to enjoy a beautiful outdoor wedding under the clouds. . .

2015 Fall Mini Sessions. Registration Open!

It’s already that time of year again!  I’m seriously in disbelief that we’re nearing the end of September already and fall has officially begun! I loved this past summer but fall does contain some of my favorite things – Jonathan and I will be celebrating our SIXTH anniversary tomorrow as we photograph Melli + David’s wedding together (woo!), my little baby Sammy will turn one in October, and my birthday and Thanksgiving (my fave holiday) are in November. Oh! And my sissy is due with her first baby – my first niece – in November too! Woo! Now I’m really excited :) Bring on the boots and sweaters, bonfires with marshmallows, hoodies and fuzzy socks, birthdays and babies, and let the cool weather begin!

One of my other favorite things about this season is the gorgeous afternoon light and the amazing color show that we get to enjoy as the leaves change in this gorgeous state. To celebrate, I’m offering a day of mini sessions on Saturday, October 10th and registration is now open!

Sessions are Saturday, October 10th, and include…
- 20 minutes of session time with Alexa
- an online viewing gallery of all final, edited images accessible for three weeks
- your choice of 10 edited hi-resolution images with a print license, downloaded straight to your computer!

Additional images and products available for purchase through the online gallery.

CLICK HERE for pricing, details, and to reserve your session! {{At this time, I’ve only opened the afternoon for sessions. If sold out, or if I receive multiple inquiries, I may add morning sessions as well! Email to request additional time slots}}

Makenna + Dylan. Irvine, CA Wedding.

One of my favorite things about being a wedding photographer is getting to photograph the weddings of close friends and family. I know many photographers don’t like trying to shoot a wedding that they want to enjoy as a guest but it’s fun for me! I love getting behind the scenes and being a part of everything that happens on the wedding day.

My cousin Makenna was married a few weeks ago and I’m so thrilled that I was the lucky one that got to photograph it :) She has obviously found the perfect match in Dylan and their day had a great balance of laughs, emotion, and that beautiful California sunshine! (Aah, I’ve missed it!) I loved seeing the nervous excitement as both the girls and guys got ready. Makenna + Dylan’s close circle of friends and family giving so much love and support. The tears shed when Makenna’s grandpa saw her for the first time before walking down the aisle. And, for the second wedding in a row, an awesome dance party! Also, getting an In-N-Out burger after the wedding was an extra bonus ;)

Love you two! Let us know when we can visit you in Boston!
