2017 Fall Mini Sessions!

Freeman_068

It’s that time of year again! One of my favorite things about the fall season is that it’s time for fall mini sessions! This is one of my very favorite times of the year… I get to reconnect with so many clients and meet new friends all in the crisp fall weather (my favorite!) with my camera in hand and a tray of Maxie B’s cookies nearby (also my favorite). I have so enjoyed the past few years of offering these short sessions just in time for your updated Christmas card portrait!

This year’s mini sessions are Saturday, October 21st at an old farm near New Garden Road in Greensboro.

Mini sessions are $175 and include 15 minutes of shooting time, an online viewing gallery of all final, edited images, and your choice of 10 hi-resolution images with a print license.

**The remainder of the final images from the session may be purchased for $100 and downloaded directly from the gallery for immediate access!**

Josh M. Winston Salem Senior Session.

| Posted in: seniors

Guys. I love photographing weddings, but senior sessions come in a close second. If you think about it, some of the elements are the same with the two stages of life … life is about to change in a big way! For one, it’s the start of life as a unit of two persons as one and for the other, the high school senior, it’s the beginning of breaking off into life as an individual. It’s so exciting!

I got to photograph Josh’s older sister years ago when she graduated high school and now it’s finally Josh’s turn! I love the classic look of Old Salem, NC and the fun and funky downtown Winston Salem combo. Don’t you love his red hair and freckles? He totally killed it!

P. S. Do you know any high school seniors graduating next year? Send them my way!

Katie + Adam. Summerfield Farms Wedding.

| Posted in: weddings

Katie + Adam’s wedding day was so lovely. Full of laughter, happy tears, friends, and family. Just as it should be! My husband, Jonathan, was one of the officiants for this wedding (the other being Katie’s dad!) so I had the privilege of joining Katie + Adam in a couple of sessions of marriage counseling. The strength and dedication of this couple is something really special and I was so honored to be a part of their wedding day!

I love how involved their families were in everything from the bridal party (check out all the flower girls and ring bearers!), to the music during the ceremony, the officiating, and all the planning beforehand! Some of my other favorite things …
– Katie + Adam opening their gifts from one another. They knew just what to get! Katie literally lost her breath when she saw the sentimental gift that Adam had created and he was so touched by her gifting exactly what he needed that day!
– the few minutes I had with just Katie, Adam, and Adam’s beautiful daughter – their first family photos!
– We had two beautiful portrait sessions with the bride and groom and the most beautiful evening light.
– Totally losing it laughing with Katie + Adam when we had a misunderstanding about something Katie wanted to do after the portraits ;)
– The toasts given by the matron of honor and best man. Both were so heartfelt and funny!
– Duck Donuts. Enough said.

The Sullivan Family. Atlantic Beach Family Session.

I spent a lovely afternoon at the beach with this this multi-generational family. I love sessions like this, where I get to photograph some beautiful portraits and lots of real-life moments, too. I got a little bit of everything with this session – a large group photo, lots of little family photos, and a mini senior session! You were delightful, Sullivan family! Let’s do it again next year ;)

Tanya + Erick. L’Abri at Linwood Wedding.

| Posted in: weddings

Man, I have a special one to share with you today! I have been looking forward to Tanya + Erick’s wedding since their New Jersey/NYC engagement session in November. They are so fun and laid-back and that always makes for a great wedding day! We started the afternoon in the bridal suite where Erick had delivered some special gifts to his bride, his mother, and his (soon-to-be) mother-in-law. It was such a sweet surprise! And that’s just how Tanya + Erick both are – so thoughtful and kind! Their friends and family were included in everything and I’m sure they felt so special.

After getting ready, Tanya + Erick had the sweetest first look (attended by their family and close friends). The
ceremony began with the officiant (Tanya’s sister) asking for everyone to put away their phones, cameras, and other devices and get to know the people around them! It allowed for a distraction-free ceremony and so many great
moments. The guests burst into a spontaneous round of applause and then friendly waves when Tanya made it to the end of the aisle. It was so sweet! Their gorgeous ceremony was sealed with a picture perfect kiss and a joyful
recession down the aisle. It started to sprinkle right after family portraits so we grabbed a handful of newlywed
portraits and headed to the reception where it turned into a complete downpour right after cocktail hour! Tanya + Erick’s first dance was followed by a surprise vocal performance by Erick, and a round of emotional toasts from their families. The sun popped out during the rain shower and, soon after, a double rainbow was spotted. We stepped outside for a few more photos before kicking off the dance party inside. Then, the sun set. Guys. THE most gorgeous pinkish-purple-cotton-candy sunset was the perfect end to the crazy weather! We stepped into a nearby field and allowed Tanya + Erick to enjoy their first sunset as husband and wife. Then it was party time. These
people seriously know how to party!

Tanya + Erick – I know you enjoyed your honeymoon (judging by your amazing Instagram photos!)… and I hope that you’re settling back into your sweet Hoboken apartment and enjoying newly-married life! I’ll check in next time I’m in New York!! ;)

Many thanks to my second photographer, Anna Paschal, for shooting this one with me! You are the best!
