This Thanksgiving. Personal.

November 29, 2012

Can you believe we’re almost in December? I am in shock! It feels like this year has gone by so fast and at the same time has been filled with so many good times, new experiences, and awesome memories. I hope you all were able to spend some time last week enjoying friends and family and being grateful for what this year has brought you.

Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday. I love having such a relaxed day with my closest family where all we plan is to cook all morning, drink coffee, cuddle, watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, share stories, play music, and laugh together. And it all reminds me that I have so SO much to be grateful for… I almost hate to start listing it all because I know the list could go on forever. God has immensely blessed me and my family. We’re all healthy. We’re all close. We get to spend a lot of time together. We have peace and hope for the future. And we’re (really) excited about this new baby boy that will be joining the family sometime in the next couple of months.

Hopefully I’ll be posting just a few more times before our little guy gets here so don’t stop checking back, but one more thing… I’m really thankful for you! Yes, you, reading this blog right now :) I’m so grateful and humbled by the number of people that check in regularly, encourage me, and send sweet notes when they love something I’ve posted. I can’t believe that this is my actual job!

These are a few snapshots from our Thanksgiving at my parents house this year. . .

We can’t go even an hour without some kind of music in the house. . .

We were only missing a few at the table in this photo. . . And those are made-from-scratch mashed potatoes on the right. They don’t look as appetizing in black & white but they were delicious!

We laugh a lot . . .

. . . in fact, we were laughing so hard, there was some crying!

I’d love to hear about your Thanksgiving weekend! Was it your first as a married couple? Anything funny or dramatic happen? We accidentally dried out the turkey a little bit this time around but no big accidents. Leave a comment and tell me about it!
